Leaders Issue Summit in Westminster, March 26

Date: March 26, 2019

Time: 7:30 am

Join us for a brief presentation about several new workforce development initiatives that could benefit you. We’ll also be listening to your needs. The number one concern among the business stakeholders that we serve is workforce development. You need help filling the talent pipeline and we’ve heard you!

One of the initiatives you’ll hear more about is the result of a partnership between the Chamber and the Adams County Education Consortium – we call it the Adams County Workforce Pathways Scholarship fund. In order to start the fund we need to access state funding and match it dollar for dollar. We’ll tell you more about how we need your help getting to the goal line when we meet. For now, know that our goal is to make it easier for youth in our community to complete a training/certification or apprenticeship program. We know the fund will benefit students and companies by:

  • Moving students into certification/apprenticeship training opportunities that generally take only 1-2 years to complete.
  • Building a pipeline of workers faster in some of the most in-demand occupations.
Reducing the amount of student debt.
  • Providing a relatively quick return on investment for companies.
