Young Shih Tzu in Oregon City Diagnosed with Fatal Heart Disease Needs Help

The following story was published on Examiner.com by Denise Carey-Costa and is reposted here with the author’s permission.

All of us who own pets know how much we value them. They are our family members, we love them and care for Bellathem and are devastated when something happens to our loved ones.

But as with people, our beloved pets become ill, sometimes even fatally so. What do we do? We all know vet care is not exactly inexpensive. Although there are many veterinarians out there who will offer discounted prices if it means saving an animal and they are most appreciated. But sometimes even at the discounted price the family is left with a financial burden they may not be able to afford.

Do we just sit back and cry and watch our pet languish away or do we stand up and fight to do whatever we can to save our dog/cat?

Sarah McKenzie of Oregon City, Oregon is a fighter for her sweet, adorable Shih Tzu named Bella. Bella is a mere two years old, barely out of her puppy years. Two months ago she started showing signs of bad health depicted by coughing, heavy breathing and loss of appetite. She became despondent, the exact opposite of her happy, cheerful self. When Sarah took her to the vet she was diagnosed with a severe case of Heart Murmer. At this time she is on increased doses of five different medicines just to keep her alive. However she will need surgery ASAP to prevent the condition from becoming fatal.

Please don’t let this happen. Don’t let Bella’s life be snuffed out at such a young age. She needs to live the long, happy life all good dogs deserve. She did not ask for this condition nor is it the fault of her owners who love her dearly.

Don’t let Sarah suffer the emotional agony of losing her beloved Bella because of the lack of funds. She has already given up her savings account to save her dog.

Please help by donating to Bella’s medical expenses and surgery via PayPal at fur.angel113@gmail.com.

No amount is too small or insignificant. Let’s be the village of caring people to help one of our own.

“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully[a] will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

2 Corinthians 9:6-7
