The Be First Watchdog

The Be First Watchdog

~James Moore

Living online can bring about fear in someone’s mind. No one should live online. There is an actual real world out there and, unfortunately, when you live online, safety issues can spill over into that reality and end up effecting safety.

BeFirst Media Group-content Marketing-The Be First Social Media Team believes that everyone should have the latest news and information regarding the digital world. Whether that data be in regards to content, apps, photo effects, website structure, or ROI and economic strategies, Be First is the team that has always made sure to give their clients 100% information to make sure that the online side of their lives is the safest possible.

Be First most definitely wants to shine the spotlight on safety. With every news show, more and more stories are being discussed about the stealing of online credit card numbers, social security numbers; heck, even entire lives and backgrounds are being taken and utilized by hackers who are never going to go away. In other words, since the fox is not about to leave the henhouse, the hens need to become far more creative in stopping them.

The facts are these: Approximately 44% of American consumers are worried that social networking – websites, apps, mobile devices, etc. – are putting out too much information about their personal lives into the digital world. And even though everyone now has a cell phone in their ear no matter what the age or location, it is a very real statistic that a majority of those users (81%), do not want to actually use their phone as a way to pay bills, purchase products or give their personal information.

It is very much like a relationship. At he beginning, when people are still trying to get to know one another, over-sharing information is a bad thing. Yes, it is wonderful to have faith and believe whole-heartedly in someone, but say you’ve only met them twice online. Now you are talking about an image, and what could very well be a story, not a reality, coming from another who is only interested in getting personal information to use criminally.

No, the use of technology is not going away anytime soon. It is the accepted and easiest way to get what you’re looking for. Some have called this ‘societal saturation’, which means actually finding a person with no cell phone or computer in the U.S. in 2014 is basically impossible. 93% of U.S. adults have a cell phone, with most purchasing a smartphone, keeping these people further connected through the Internet.

The youngest generation will not even know what a world was like before the computer or cell, and some will disconnect over time from the real life factor. This, however, is not a debate on what will occur when no face-to-face is ever seen again in this world; this is about the fact that even though social media may lull you into a false sense of security, protecting your personal information is a must. There are foxes in the henhouse, people, and they are multiplying.

Some of the largest companies in the world, not to mention, actual federal government offices, have been hacked into. Peoples’ very lives have been stolen from ‘well-protected’ sites. If you are a person OR business owner trying to set up a company that will have the power to protect your target audience, you need to make sure that you work with a name that understands the ins-and-outs of what could, is, and may happen over the Internet.

When you hire that social media/PR team to create a fantastic website that brings customers back again and again, that team must also have the full awareness of how the ‘bad side’ of the digital world works in 2014. You need that ever-present watchdog for many things – not just to analyze how a campaign is going or how good a competitor’s campaign is. You need that team for 24/7 customer service, which includes helping to protect that customer which then protects your business and increases your revenue.

With the apps, networks and websites, positive things have come, but negatives have also arrived. This is a package deal, and in order to make sure your company becomes one of those Great American Companies, get a team that is always working for you and your customer!
