Community First Credit Union’s A DECEMBER TO REMEMBER

Schedule Announced for St. Johns County Venues
St. Augustine, Fla. (October 1, 2013) – Community First Credit Union and the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division are teaming up to present a series of family-friendly winter and holiday season events. The series “Community First Credit Union’s A December to Remember” features fun, free and ticketed events for the community including movie screenings, concerts, live performances, food AD2R_logodrives and more; at Cultural Events Division managed venues- the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.
“Community First Credit Union’s A December to Remember” will kick off with a drive-in movie in the parking lot of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Friday, November 29 at 7pm. Other notable events include Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Holiday Revue on Sunday, December 1, A Charlie Brown Christmas with David Benoit on Monday, December 9 and Tuesday, December 10, and the St. Augustine Firefighters Chili Cook-off on Saturday, December 14.

The greater St. Johns County community is an important focus of this year’s event series, and the Cultural Events Division will also collect toys and canned foods during December for distribution to area non-profits. The Amphitheatre will be open to the public and fully decorated all month long with lights, festive décor, a holiday tree and will offer train rides and visits with Santa during each A December to Remember event.
“The Cultural Events Division is grateful for the support of Community First Credit Union and our other generous sponsors for enabling us to present this series as a gift to the community,” said St. Johns County Cultural Events Division General Manager Ryan Murphy. “We are continually appreciative of the support of patrons throughout the region who attend our concert and community events during the year. A December to Remember is our chance to give back by offering a series of free events to generate goodwill and build the holiday spirit in our community.”
The Cultural Events Division manages the daily operations of both the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, as well as supports events and festivals throughout St. Johns County. During 2013, the Amphitheatre hosted 37 concert events and a variety of community events, while the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presented 34 concerts and various community events and social rentals.
In addition to the free holiday shows, a few ticketed concerts will be held at both venues, including Alabama Shakes on Saturday, December 7 at the Amphitheatre and singer Shemekia Copeland on Sunday, December 8 at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.
