Beer is ‘Green’ On More Than Just St. Patty’s Day

by Troutski

Yes, everyone knows about the green food coloring put into their favorite hops as the Irish people are celebrated. However, beer is being used in other ‘green’ ways across the land, and has become a truly popular environmentally-friendly décor idea for people who wish to be unique.

LED lights are fine; energy-efficient appliances are all the rage; and the various types of renewable energy sources coming down the pike are beyond interesting. Just by driving the countryside recently, this writer saw wind machines going up across the Brewing Beer has become greencountry and solar projects that are beyond monumental. But when decorating the inside of a home, it seems that beer containers are a ‘fresh’ take on an old concept.

Beer bottles were recycled decades ago. Some became crushed up into broken glass and used in artwork, while others were used in the seventies or eighties as flower vases or lamps. But as the headlines keep growing and growing, talking about how we can better our country, diminish our carbon footprint, and find a way to save the world so that the next generation can enjoy it – it is the ‘hot fad’ of utilizing beer containers for all types of household projects that is being heard about.

More and more manufacturers of home decorations, and alternatives to making your home décor more environmentally-friendly, have been seeing beer in a whole new light. Many creative designers are now using recycled beer bottles – especially because of the myriad of colors that they come in – to not only mix with tile surfaces, but also add to backsplashes and countertops. These are smooth decorations for the homeowner, but the range of colors makes them absolutely extraordinary. They not only pick up the light, but they also add extreme durability to the designs.

Eco-friendly surfaces are being heralded as of late because of the new influx of home building. Now, home renovations are also on the rise – which is allowing people to choose more affordable and better products to enhance their old kitchens, dining areas, bathrooms, and more. One way they are doing this is to use the beer-laden surfaces.

In New Mexico, alone, houses are being built at supersonic speed, which sounds a bit odd considering the economy. But many of the homes are being built to provide eco-friendly neighborhoods to people who are now voicing the fact that there should be far more of these neighborhoods out there to choose from. And one of the decorations within these homes comes from these recycled beer counters.

Considering these products are molded from fine quartz, beer bottles and other materials, they are solid and non-porous items. This means that they never require sealing of any kind. And the tops are literally completely smooth, along with being THE stylish and sleek choice for building or renovating.

By being offered in everything from solid colors to more elegant/cool counters that offer vibrant colors with metallic flecks, these products can be used in almost every home design. So whether it be the adorable, homey farmhouse or the Manhattan high-rise studio, the homeowner will be immensely pleased.

They have the highest heat resistance rating of any countertop surface available, and the companies out there creating and distributing these countertops are seeing a huge love from consumers.

In other words…it’s not just for St Patrick’s Day anymore. ‘Green’ beer comes in all forms now, and even though the liquid kind may taste better for a celebration; it’s the smooth, durable kind that will hold up for far longer.
